9 Myrtle Beach July 4 Events That Bring the Fireworks and the Fun

Parades, parties, and patriotic flyovers? This is how the Grand Strand does Independence Day.

The Fourth of July hits differently when you’re beachside. From charming golf cart parades to explosive waterfront fireworks, Myrtle Beach and its surrounding coastal towns know exactly how to celebrate America’s birthday. Whether you’re running a 5K in red, white, and blue or catching a military flyover while digging your toes into the sand, there’s no shortage of ways to spend the day. Here are nine of the biggest and brightest Independence Day events happening this year.

Surfside Beach 4th of July Parade & Celebration

Kick off your morning at one of the most iconic small-town parades in the region. Festive golf carts decked out in stars and stripes roll down Yaupon Drive and Ocean Boulevard, cheered on by flag-waving locals. The parade ends near Surfside Pier, where the party continues with live music, kids’ games, and a patriotic flyover courtesy of Salute from the Shore. Memorial Park wraps up the day with a family-friendly bash and a fireworks show lighting up the sky.

Location: Yaupon Drive & Surfside Pier, Surfside Beach

Pawleys Island 4th of July Parade

Equal parts charming and chaotic (in the best way), the Pawleys Island parade is a quirky slice of Americana. The route winds from the South Causeway to Old Town Hall, showcasing golf carts, boats, trucks—basically anything that moves—dressed in full patriotic glam. Want in? Float registration includes a T-shirt and a chance to win big in the float competition. Just get there early—this one’s a crowd-pleaser.

Location: South Causeway to Old Town Hall, Pawleys Island

Independence Day 5K at Market Common

If you’re the kind of person who likes to earn your hot dogs, the Independence Day 5K is your jam. With a scenic course, tons of swag, and a supportive local crowd, it’s no wonder this event has become a holiday morning staple. Runners, walkers, and kids of all speeds are welcome—just don’t forget your red, white, and blue.

Location: 4017 Deville Street, Myrtle Beach, SC

Murrells Inlet Boat Parade & MarshWalk Celebration

Murrells Inlet throws one of the coast’s most unique July 4 parties, now in its 42nd year. Boats dressed in red, white, and blue cruise the waterway past the MarshWalk, while on land, the party brings food, live music, and drinks all day long. Cap it off with fireworks lighting up the inlet.

Inlet Fireworks Cruise – Crazy Sister Marina

Want a break from the beach crowds? Set sail on a fireworks cruise from Crazy Sister Marina. You’ll drift along the coastline before dropping anchor for a front-row seat to the MarshWalk fireworks. It’s scenic, a little romantic, and way less crowded than the shore. Definitely book ahead.

Salute From the Shore Flyover

Don’t blink—this patriotic flyover is fast, loud, and worth every second. Military jets and vintage warbirds blaze down the Grand Strand, and you’ll hear them before you see them. Grab your beach chair, wave your flag, and enjoy one of the most stirring moments of the day. Cherry Grove to Pawleys Island offers the best views.

Cherry Grove Pier Fireworks

There’s something timeless about watching fireworks explode over the ocean. Cherry Grove Pier delivers the full experience. Just know that beach closures and roadblocks kick in early, so plan ahead. And remember—this is a professional show only, so leave your sparklers at home and soak it in.

Location: 3500 North Ocean Boulevard, North Myrtle Beach, SC

The Hangout 4th Party

If you want the energy of a block party with the entertainment of a festival, The Hangout at Broadway at the Beach is where to be. This all-ages celebration offers live music, foam parties, lawn games, Gulf seafood, and plenty of red, white, and brew. There’s something happening every hour—and fireworks to close out the day.

Broadway’s 4th of July Extravaganza

The grand finale of Myrtle Beach’s holiday week happens at Broadway at the Beach. With fireworks over Lake Broadway each night leading up to July 4, and a big final celebration on the Fourth itself, this is the go-to for families wanting food, fun, and a fuss-free fireworks view.
