Why 2026 Is a Big Year for Myrtle Beach

New restaurants, breweries, attractions and experiences officially on the way

Myrtle Beach isn’t tiptoeing into 2026—it’s showing up with momentum. The year ahead brings a wave of new dining, entertainment and experience-driven developments that point to a bigger shift happening across the area. From headline-making attractions to community-first hangouts, these projects are reshaping how locals and visitors spend their time. Here’s what’s coming—and where you can expect to find it.

Downtown Flavortown

Guy Fieri’s high-energy dining and entertainment concept is confirmed for 2026 and will take over a large footprint at Myrtle Beach Mall. Downtown Flavortown blends bold comfort food with arcade games, duckpin bowling, bars and social spaces designed for groups.

This is less about a quick meal and more about an all-in experience. Expect it to become one of the most visible and talked-about openings of the year—especially for families, tourists and anyone planning a full night out.

Ole Smoky Distillery & Yee-Haw Brewing Co.

Opening in spring 2026, this dual distillery and brewery brings Tennessee moonshine culture and craft beer to one of Myrtle Beach’s busiest entertainment hubs. The venue will feature tasting rooms, indoor and outdoor spaces, retail, live music and event programming.

Designed as both a daytime attraction and nightlife anchor, this project adds another social layer to Broadway’s already stacked lineup.

South Coast Beer Project

South Coast Beer Project is set to become Carolina Forest’s first major craft brewery destination when it opens in 2026. Built with community in mind, the space will feature a laid-back taproom, outdoor beer garden, pond-side views and flexible event areas.

With food trucks, live music and locally brewed beer, this one is aimed squarely at locals—while still welcoming visitors looking for something beyond the main tourist strip.

SurfWorks Surf Park

Originally expected in 2026, SurfWorks Surf Park is now projected to open in 2027, but it remains one of the most significant developments on Myrtle Beach’s horizon. The wave lagoon will use Wavegarden Cove technology to create consistent surf for all skill levels.

Plans also include restaurants, bars, retail, an amphitheater and resort-style amenities—positioning it as a future multi-day attraction once complete.

The PicklePort

Opening summer 2026, The PicklePort is a large indoor-outdoor pickleball complex and a direct extension of Tidal Creek Brewhouse. Developed by the same ownership group, the project is designed to seamlessly blend competitive play with social gathering.

Plans include climate-controlled indoor courts, covered outdoor courts, a pro shop, training areas and spectator seating, with easy access to food and drinks on-site. It’s less of a traditional sports facility and more of a lifestyle-driven hangout—built for leagues, locals and anyone who wants to turn a pickleball match into an afternoon plan.

357 Brewers

Slated for summer 2026, 357 Brewers is a $6.4 million waterfront brewery overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. The project includes a 15-barrel brewing system, rotating and seasonal beers, and an indoor-outdoor bar setup designed to maximize marina views.

Live music, tastings and sunset scenery position this as one of the most scenic brewery openings on the 2026 calendar.

RMC Raptor Coaster at Family Kingdom

Family Kingdom is adding its most significant thrill ride in decades with the debut of the RMC Raptor Coaster, expected for the 2026 season. Built by Rocky Mountain Construction, the coaster will replace the park’s former Figure 8 ride.

Standing roughly 100 feet tall and reaching speeds near 50 mph, the new attraction is designed to draw thrill-seekers and expand the park’s appeal beyond younger riders.

Big Fish

Big Fish is confirmed to open in 2026 in the former Liberty Brewery & Grill space. While details are still emerging, the concept is planned as a waterfront seafood restaurant with outdoor seating overlooking the water.

As Broadway continues expanding its dining mix, this addition strengthens its lineup of sit-down, view-driven restaurants.

Alley Oops

Alley Oops is a family-forward entertainment venue confirmed for 2026. The concept blends duckpin bowling, themed design elements and a food-and-drink program inspired by Maryland-style fare.

Designed for group outings and all-ages fun, it’s positioned to become a new go-to for casual nights out in North Myrtle Beach.

These projects reflect a broader shift toward experience-based destinations that encourage people to stay longer, explore more and return often—adding depth and dimension to the area’s dining and entertainment scene.
