Melissa LaScaleia, Lead Writer / Editor is a ballet dancer, born in Boston, and graduated from Harvard University with a degree in history of art and architecture. She’s the Insider’s Literary Editor, and shares Charlie’s job with him of Writer. She loves to travel, especially internationally— to immerse herself in foreign cultures, explore wines, and drink in beauty human and nature made. “I love fine dining– the fusion of creativity, focus, confidence, passion, and love involved in creating a truly superb meal— that combines the chef ’s appreciation for the earth as well as his own unique cultural background and desires. It’s like eating a painting. I enjoy savoring every bite. And it reminds me of the impermanence of everything, and to appreciate the life, death, life cycle that is nature.” Wild, untouched places as well as beauty of all types feed her soul, and she bows deeply with gratitude to all the natural places still in existence on this planet and the people who work to keep them so.

Thomas O’Leary, Systems Analyst was born in Brooklyn, New York, grew up on Long Island, and currently lives with his wife Geri in Emmens Preserve at Market Common. “We have been in this area for almost 4 years now. We both feel we have found our home”. Previously, they had lived in Japan, New York, and Florida. “I try to stay outdoors as much as possible. I enjoy identifying the birds in the backyard that come to my birdbath, riding my bicycle around the neighborhood, and walking the beach.” Advice that Tom likes to give his friends and family is the following: 1) If you make $100, live on $70. 2) It’s not how much you make, it’s what you do with what you make. 3) Find a job that pays you to think. Tom has a BA from USF, an MBA from LIU, and he is a US Navy veteran. In his previous career he spent 32 years in Satellite Communications, which provided him with extensive international travel. “Currently, I am working on the online paper. There’s so much to learn. I feel I am still a novice.” His future plan is to retire again for the second time, and this time stay retired!
